Privacy
No names or emails. When you sign in, Playfield only asks Google for an anonymous account ID, so it can recognize you next time. It never receives or saves your name or email address, so there's no list of who uses it.
What Playfield stores: that anonymous ID, the settings you choose (design, location, dinners, reminders, calendar links), and, if you connect Google Calendar, a token that lets it read your calendar. The token is stored encrypted.
What it does with your calendar: if you connect Google Calendar, Playfield asks for two read-only permissions: to see the list of calendars you have (so you can pick which ones to show), and to view their events. It reads today's events to show them on your display. It can't create, change, or delete anything. Events aren't kept: they're fetched for today, cached for up to 15 minutes so your screen loads quickly, then deleted.
Google user data: Playfield's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It's used only to show your own display, never for ads, never sold, and never read by people except to fix a problem you report.
Who can see your display: anyone with your display link. Treat it like a password and don't post it publicly.
What it never does: sell or share your data, show ads, or use your calendar for anything other than your display.
Usage counts: to improve Playfield, it counts things like how many displays are active each day, which designs are popular, and which features get used, plus short error messages when something breaks. These are totals, not tied to a person, and never include your calendar.
Feedback: if you send feedback, Playfield saves your message with your design and screen size. Your email is only saved if you ask for a reply.
Weather comes from Open-Meteo using the city or zip code you enter.
Leaving: "Delete my account" on the setup page erases everything and removes Playfield's access to your Google account. You can also remove Playfield's access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
